Every year when it’s August in Miami, you can’t take more than a few steps without hearing someone say how hot and humid it is, which frankly makes it hard to want to leave the house – but thanks to the Greater Miami Convention & Visitor’s Bureau (GMCVB) There are two incredible deals that visitors and locals can use to make not only Miami summers bearable, but also some of the best months of the year.
As an effort to stimulate the economy, the GMCVB hosts the Miami Temptations programs throughout the year with different themed deals each month. During the summer, you’ll find Miami Spa months in July and August where you can indulge in pampering and relaxation with treatments for as little as $109 at some of the best spas in the city, plus access to amenities at some top-notch hotels. Then there’s Miami Spice Restaurant Months where in August and September you can dive into incredible three-course menus (for lunch and brunch for $28 and dinner for $45 or $60) at many of Miami’s most coveted restaurants in August and September – do it this year 244 restaurants with it.
If you’ve already figured it out, that means you can treat yourself to a day at the spa and a great dinner for under $200 in August. It’s a tough deal to beat. That said not all menus are created equal and it is possible to visit one and feel like you are not getting much value so to avoid here are some of the best places to take advantage of both Spa & Spice during the month of August.

Located in the heart of downtown Miami, this hotel is often overlooked by locals which is a shame as it is well worth a visit especially when it comes to both the mySpa and the Pan-Latin steakhouse , Toro Toro. The spa, while not one of the largest we’ve seen, promotes instant relaxation on arrival with welcome bubbles and friendly staff. If you are looking for the ultimate melt-your-worry-away treatment, opt for the MyMassage with hot stones, aromatherapy and a scalp & Swedish massage. It’s the whole package and you will feel more relaxed than you can imagine. But don’t relax so much that you forget your dinner reservation downstairs, where you can feast on Mexican chipotle bbq pork ribs, flat iron yuzu flank steak and the signature La Bomba dessert. Sure there’s an extra charge for dessert, but we swear it’s worth it.
Eden Roc Miami Beach
Everyone knows that proximity to the ocean calms you down almost immediately, but did you know that Eden Roc Miami Beach is the closest property on Miami Beach to the actual ocean water? That fun fact makes it easy to reason that treating yourself to a day on the property is probably a really good idea. At the Esencia Wellness spa, guests are welcomed to an expansive spa with whirlpools, plunge pools, saunas, and hydro experience and aromatherapy showers. Once you’re ready for your treatment, the relaxation lounge features floor-to-ceiling windows with sweeping views of the resort and ocean. The menu includes massages, facials, haircuts and more – but the crème de la crème of the treatments is the Nobu Nagomi Summer Ritual which takes place for $199 for 110 minutes with aromatherapy, a body polish, a facial and a Swedish massage that all starts with a guided meditation tailored to your needs. With both a lunch and dinner option in Miami Spice, the onsite Ocean Social is a perfect place to nourish your body before or after your treatment. Enjoy Key West coconut shrimp ceviche, pork carnitas, seafood risotto, and more.

After your treatment, sit back and enjoy the sunset over the Miami skyline as you dine at Baia Beach Club with dishes like charred octopus, pasta alla boscaiola, and coppa Catalina. If that menu doesn’t do it for you, consider heading to the nearby Orilla Bar & Grill, where you can find incredible Argentinian dishes cooked in an open kitchen using a Josper charcoal grill with two menu options – $45 or $60. Here, menu highlights include mollejas, lamb chops, grilled shrimp, and a baked Alaska table.

Before or after your treatment, take advantage of the aromatherapy music and steam room, relax in the salt room or relax by the hotel’s adult Cascata pool. Once you’re relaxed and feeling spoiled, head to Bourbon Steak, where the meal begins with the infamous Michael Mina fries trio before working your way through a three-course meal of hamachi crudo, seared Hudson Valley foie gras , NY strip and a delicious chocolate hazelnut pie – just to name a few.

After you’ve wrapped up in the spa, Miami Spice’s dining options are nearly limitless, with Hakkasan and Michael Mina’s StripSteak all taking part. These menus are among the best offered during the GMCVB program.
The Setai Miami Beach
You don’t need to have celebrity status to treat yourself to a day at South Beach’s Setai. With Spa Month deals available every day of the week, you can start your day at Valmont for The Spa at The Setai, which features four private spa suites with enough space for up to two guests. Enjoy ocean and pool views, a private bath and steam room, and choose from a custom facial, full body care, ‘Triple Fix’ treatment with facial cleansing, foot and scalp massage, or 50-minute Bali fusion massage. Once you’re completely relaxed, head to Jaya for lunch or dinner to enjoy modern Asian cuisine, incorporating a variety of traditional culinary techniques, from wok stations to tandoor ovens. The indoor dining room is both inviting and sophisticated. Highlights from the menu include truffle dumplings, Japanese leaf salad, salmon sashimi, pad thai, chicken panang, filet mignon, and several fresh seafood dishes. Looking for an ocean view? Head to The Ocean Grill, where the Miami Spice menu features seared tuna, seafood risotto, and a delicious tiramisu.

But don’t be shy about making dinner reservations in September, as Miami Spice continues through September 30.
