The weeks have really flown by, haven’t they? Today is the last day of summer and the first day of fall. The autumnal equinox occurs at 6:03 PM, which means you woke up today and it was still summer, but tonight when you go to bed, summer is over. It’s a bit of a strange thought.
Autumn has a wistfulness that is beautiful, but also a little sad and terrifying. I think that’s why it’s the perfect time of year for Halloween. The world is dying all around us and its death is beautiful and often spectacular. Green leaves turn into various shades of flame before falling and becoming mulched.
Then the flame slowly goes out and the branches remain barren. Winter begins to awaken and slowly clambers out of its summer hibernation. We feel the fresh chill long before December and then welcome the season with a festival of lights at Christmas. The fiery autumn foliage gives way to crackling fireplaces and the smell of wood smoke.
But hey, there’s still a touch of summer left. Let’s do this Wordle and then go out and play!
Today’s Wordle #460 Hint, Clue & Answer
The warning: Spoiler warning. You have been warned!
The tip: Val Kilmer and Elisabeth Shue were in this film.
The clue: The vowels of this word are in a row.
Hell, when I get this one out of three, it reminds me that it’s been a long time since I’ve gotten a word under four. I had a two guess word a while back, but that was a rare surprise. Usually I have these in four, sometimes five. Occasionally six.
Today my first guess was a bit crap but it ended nicely with the final answer. Choir brought the total to only 478, which is quite a number. Satisfying, takes gave me three more correct letters, leaving me with one green and three yellow ones. At this point, I had no idea that there were only two options left for me.
I swapped the T and the S and once I moved the ‘I’ to the only remaining spot I had only one letter left to work: N. So I went with that and to my delight, victory! How so!
