TGIF—Thank goodness it’s Freya’s day. One more day before the sweet respite of the weekend.
I am especially better from my little affair with the COVID-19. Just that residual cold stuff – a bit more snotty, mostly. Slightly bitter with a hint of grumpiness. It all rots.
The other good news from my part of the country – where a human-caused forest fire has burned large swaths of the mountain – is that the monsoon season has started and we are finally getting daily rains.
Either way, today’s Wordle is a little tricky, so let’s take a look, shall we? Read on for an introduction to Wordle or skip ahead for today’s tip and answer!
How to play Wordle
Wordle is a fairly simple game. First, head over to the game’s homepage at The New York Times (it’s not an app on the App Store or Google Play, although there are plenty of imitators).
Once here, you will find six rows of five boxes. These represent your six guesses. Type a word and hit “Enter” and all the correct letters you get will appear in colored boxes: green if it’s in the right place, yellow if it’s in the wrong place. If a square is gray, it means that the letter is not in the solution.
Today Wordle #370 Hint and Answer
There are spoilers ahead! You must beware! Beware of spoilers! They come to take you away, haha!
First, a hint: If you were a wrathful god, you might do this to pagans and disbelievers from time to time.
And the answer is . . . .
This one took me a little while to figure out despite getting three letters correct – one green and two yellow – in my very first guess.
And what a first guess! I’m proud of this one. Skein means “a length of yarn or yarn, loosely coiled and knotted” although it’s not a word you hear often in everyday conversation. It reduced the total number of possibilities from 2,309 to just 14, unlike crane which, for today’s word, would have left 102. Take that, Wordle Bot!
From there, things kind of went smoothly. . . slower. Sieve took me 14 to 10 remaining solutions. I sliced out of five other solutions with guess #3, but there were far too many left for comfort (although at the time I hadn’t realized how precarious I was in that position).
Arrow left me with two possible solutions and two guesses, but luckily I only needed one more to get it right, with to hit. And so I hit today’s Wordle like a boss. The other possible solution was after but I am no longer to hit dude that one after dude.
Still, kind of a tough word today with all the possible ways it could go! Happy Friday, dear Wordlers! Have a good week-end!
