A sex offender has escaped from prison where he is serving a life sentence for aggravated burglary.
HMP North Sea Camp in Boston, Lincolnshire, reported that Gary Butcher, 55, escaped just three months after another sex offender made a runner.
As police ask the public to keep an eye on the convict, he was described as a stocky white man with a swallow tattoo on his right arm and a “Phillip-Trina” tattoo on his left arm.
Lead investigator Detective Inspector Paul Coleman has issued an appeal for information to locate Butcher, who may have traveled to the Leicestershire area.

He continues: “As an open prison, its main objective is to resettle residents and accustom them to working in the community.
“There is a job club and Jobcentre Plus, self-employment courses and paid opportunities to work outside of prison.”

It was originally a borstal which opened in 1935.
Borstal trainees crossed the country from Stafford to build two protective dykes and began reclaiming land from the North Sea.
The land became the prison farm, which until 2004 was the largest in the UK.
