Oscar winner Louise Fletcher has died aged 88.

The actress’s family revealed to TAUT that Fletcher passed away peacefully at her home in Montdurausse, France, but has not disclosed a cause of death.

She played the famous nurse Ratched in the 1975 Miloš Forman-directed film One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, which also starred Jack Nicholson.

The role earned her the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the 1976 ceremony, as well as a Golden Globe and BAFTA Award.
