White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre suggested in “The View” on Thursday that the Biden administration is trying to “fix” an immigration system that has decimated former President Trump.

Republicans helped create chaos on the border.

Jean-Pierre told the hosts of “The View” that the number of people fleeing countries like Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela to enter the Americas has risen sharply recently, saying: “We’ve seen a 121% increase since last year. So we’re talking about places with a communist regime, and they’re trying to get out of that communist regime and you see this problem in the western hemisphere… So we have a new type of migration taking place.”

She claimed the Biden administration has handled the situation responsibly by working closely with countries in the troubled region, but Republican governors have been problematic.

“All our regional partners are dealing with it. We talk to them and we communicate constantly,” she said. “This is why the stunt the Republican governors are doing is so shameful.”

Republican governors such as Ron DeSantis of Florida have sent migrants to areas popular with liberal politicians in an effort to bring the chaos at the border back into the political spotlight.

Jean-Pierre suggested the move was “so inhumane” because the Trump administration was causing the problems in the first place.

“It is so inhumane because while we are trying to solve a problem that has been decimated, an immigration system that has been decimated by the last government, they are not coming up with solutions,” Jean-Pierre claimed. “They use children, they use women and families as a political stunt, as a political ploy because they don’t want solutions at all.”

Jean-Pierre added: “I want to ask Governor DeSantis, ‘Why? Why are you doing this? Why are you doing this to children? To families? Where’s the solution?'”

Jean-Pierre is the last of several Democratic leaders, such as Vice President Kamala Harris and Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., who have suggested that Republicans, especially the Trump administration, are responsible for the current crisis on the border.

Harris suggested in a video released Wednesday by Vice that the Biden administration has spent time and resources “reconstructing” the immigration system.
