Chinmayi Sripada-Rahul Ravindran welcomes twins, singer reacts to netizens asking if she opted for surrogacy


Popular playback singer Chinmayi Sripada and actor-director Rahul Ravindran have become parents of twins. Sripada shared the announcement in an Instagram post on Tuesday evening. Although she did not share details of the children’s birth, the singer said the couple named the newborns Driptah and Sharvas.

“Driptah and Sharvas. The new and eternal center of our universe,” Sripada wrote, tagging Ravindran. She even thanked her fans and informed them that she was shadowbanned and couldn’t respond to direct messages. His cation further read, “Instagram has always shadowbanned me. I can’t reply to DMs so sorry. And thank you. DMs will get a reply from @chinmayi.sripada.”

Shortly after Chinmayi Sripada shared the happy news, netizens began to speculate if the couple welcomed the twins through surrogacy. Many questioned her in the comments section asking the same.

Later, in a subsequent post, the singer blasted the trolls saying she was “protecting” herself as she navigated the pregnancy.

“I love those people who ask me if I had twins through a surrogate simply because I didn’t post pictures of me pregnant. Only those who were in my closest circle close knew because I was protecting myself (sic),” she said.

Chinmayi also announced that she and her husband Rahul Ravindran will not be posting any photos of their twins on social media, for at least a while. “Our children’s photos won’t be on our social media for a long time either,” she said.

Sripada and Ravindran got married in May 2014.
